bookmark_borderProfessional Electric Chainsaw: Which one will you need?

Chainsaws are a great way to both cut down trees, and cut the fallen trees into timber. Before chainsaws, people would have to use axes, which would take a long time, and not deliver very smooth cuts.

If you have a lot of trees that need to be dealt down (whether that be cut down, or cut up) what you’re going to want to do is get yourself a chainsaw to get the job done quicker and more efficiently.

There are two kinds of chainsaws. The first one is the gas powered chainsaw, run on the same stuff that runs your car. And the second is electric, run on a battery.

Professional Electric Chainsaw

Advantages of Electric

There are plenty of advantages to getting an electric chainsaw over a gas powered one. The main one being that they are much better for the environment. Whilst gas powered chainsaws often produce lots of harmful pollutants, the number produced by electric chainsaws is much lower. They are also often easier to maintain and most of the time safer to use.

Another big advantage to electric over gas is that they tend to be much lighter. Making them more appropriate for when you have to cut off high branches from a tree.

What you should look for

Regardless as to whether you’re buying an electric or a gas powered chainsaw, there are certain things that you’ll want in the device.

Sharpness. If the teeth are not sharp, they cannot lock themselves into the wood, and therefore will not deliver a quick and smooth cut.

Power. The whole point of using a chainsaw over a regular saw is that it gets the job done quicker, this will be defied if the chainsaw you’re using lacks power.

Size. It needs to be just right. Too big and it’ll be hard to use. Too small, and it won’t be able to do the job it’s supposed to properly.

Electric chainsaws have advantages of gas powered chainsaws in that they are safer and lighter to use, and are much better for the environment. However, just like with gas chainsaws, you will still want something that’s sharp, powerful, and just the right size.

The chainsaws in this article are my top 5 but there are plenty of other ones out there.
